Everyone has heard the word marketing but how many of us can actually explain what it really involves? Alright, we might be able to say what marketing people do, but what about the deeper stuff? The stuff that you don’t dare ask because it sounds like you’re being stupid?
Of course, it’s nobody’s fault. To all but the most savvy, marketing (and internet marketing, of course, which is entirely its own entity) is a strange and alien thing which just seems to happen. But as anyone with their own business knows, marketing is absolutely everything and never just happens: everything is planned perfectly. The wrong marketing campaign will break a business. The right one will streamline it, making it super-efficient. The end result will mean increased profit and a growing reputation that only looks set to become more noteworthy.
Everyone in business has their own take on how marketing is done correctly. With so many opinions, how can you reasonably sort out the ones that make sense from the ones that don’t?

I have to say, I’ve read up on marketing theory at a few web-sites, and it isn’t often that you get this much real information. Usually it’s just a lot of talk and projections about what will be done, but this post is different: it discusses marketing tactics, why they do and don’t work, and, most importantly, backs it all up with good reasoning that anyone can grasp. Here’s my suggestion: if you know absolutely nothing about marketing then check out these guys. You could do far worse.
